Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Major Camera Issues Disappoint Users
Earlier this month, rumors indicated that Samsung might release a software update in April to address the camera issues on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, it seems that this plan has not materialized as expected.
Ice Universe, a well-known leaker with a reliable track record, has shared that the camera software update for the Galaxy S24 Ultra has been postponed, at least until June of this year.
Initially, this source claimed the update would be released this month and even provided details about the issues it would address, such as inaccurate white balance, unusual red hues, and poor image quality in zoom shots.
Why Is a Fix Necessary?
After the rollout of the One UI 6.1 update to several Galaxy devices, some users began encountering issues such as fingerprint scanner failures, slower charging speeds, screen freezing, and camera problems.
While the South Korean manufacturer may not be responsible for all the issues, such as the touchscreen problems affecting the Galaxy S23, the camera issues on the Galaxy S24 Ultra are likely entirely Samsung’s responsibility.
Samsung forums are flooded with complaints from Galaxy S24 Ultra users who have been experiencing camera issues since the phone’s release. Faulty white balance, telephoto lens problems, overexposure, and unusual red tones are some of the most common issues that Galaxy S24 Ultra users have reported for quite some time.
However, despite these issues, it’s important to note that the camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is quite impressive. In fact, it quickly rose to the top of the list of the best camera phones right after its launch in January.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra boasts impressive camera specifications, including a 200 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and two zoom cameras—one with a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and another with a 50 MP lens with 5x zoom.
However, experiencing problems with such a high-end camera setup can undoubtedly affect the overall user experience. Therefore, a software update with a fix is highly anticipated by users. As of now, the exact release date for the upcoming Galaxy S24 update remains uncertain, so if you own this flagship device, keep an eye out for more details.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s major update is its titanium design. The phone features IP68 water and dust resistance, allowing it to be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters deep for up to 30 minutes.
In terms of display, the S24 Ultra has a large and spacious 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, similar to previous Galaxy Ultra devices. With LTPO 3.0 technology, the S24 Ultra’s display offers a very smooth and dynamic refresh rate ranging from 1-120Hz. However, the standout feature here is the maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, making the Galaxy S24 Ultra one of the brightest screens available on the market.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will receive support for seven years, in line with Google’s recent commitment to extended software support. This commitment includes not only security updates but also major operating system upgrades for both Android and One UI.
The biggest highlight of the S24 Ultra is the abundance of AI features spread across the One UI 6.1 interface. Samsung has heavily invested in the phone’s AI capabilities, which is truly the most significant new feature of the Galaxy S24 series.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra in all global regions will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. This chip, manufactured by TSMC using a 4nm process, offers a 10% better system performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. All Galaxy S24 Ultra models come with 12GB of RAM. The phone offers three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, with no expandable storage available.
This flagship device is available in Titanium Gold, Titanium Purple, Titanium Black, and Titanium Gray colors. As per tradition, Samsung offers additional exclusive color options when purchasing the Galaxy through the Samsung.com store: Titanium Orange, Titanium Blue, and Titanium Green.
