Commonly Used Terms in Google Adsense

Earning money from Google Adsense is a very popular method among MMO community members. If you are a beginner, read the following article to understand some commonly used terms in Google Adsense.

You all probably know what Google Adsense is, so I won't repeat. Today, I will explain some terms people often refer to when talking about Google Adsense.

1. CPC

CPC is short for Cost Per Click, which is the amount you earn each time a user clicks on your Adsense ad. The cost per click varies depending on the advertiser; some advertisers pay more, some pay less. So remember to turn off the less-paying ones to increase revenue.

2. CPM

CPM stands for Cost Per 1000 Impressions, which means the price for every 1000 ad displays. Meaning, when your website has displayed the advertiser's ad enough 1000 times, you get paid.

3. CTR

CTR is the percentage of ad clicks. It is calculated as the percentage of the number of times users click on the ad divided by the number of ad displays.

CTR = Number of clicks / Number of displays, views or inquiries

For example, if you get 5 clicks out of 1000 page views, your CTR will be 0.5%.

4. RPM

RPM stands for revenue per thousand impressions, representing the estimated income you will accumulate for every 1000 impressions you receive.

Formula:

RPM = (Estimated income / Page views, displays or inquiries) * 1000

Example: If you earn about $0.5 from 25 page views, your page RPM will be ($0.15 / 25) * 1000, or $12.

5. PIN

When registering a Google Adsense account and start earning, when your income reaches a threshold of $10, Google will send you a PIN of 6 digits to the address you registered to confirm. Receiving the PIN usually takes about 10 days or more, depending on where you live.

If you don't receive Google's mail, you can ask Google to resend and you have a maximum of 3 requests, equivalent to 3 times to enter the PIN.

In case you've entered more than 3 times but still can't confirm the address, you will have to confirm with your personal identification documents such as ID cards or domestic bills as proof of your address.

6. PIP

PIP is a notification that Google Adsense is processing your payments. Note that only when your account reaches a minimum threshold of $100 can you receive the payment. Typically, Google will send you this notice on the 21st or 22nd of every month.

7. PI

PI is a notification that the payment has been completed. It means that your payment has been processed and sent. All you have to do now is waiting for the money to come through your chosen payment method. Typically, if you're in Vietnam, most of you will receive via WU or Bank.
