Starfield is about to receive a major update fixing over 100 in-game bugs
According to Neowin, fans of the popular game Starfield are about to welcome its biggest update yet. Following a series of stability updates before the holiday season, Bethesda is set to deliver a major update for Xbox and PC gamers containing over 100 bug fixes and improvements on January 17.
Revealed on the company’s official social media channels, the upcoming update promises to remove all barriers in the journey of exploring the universe. Issues obstructing the main storyline, such as being unable to dock the Legacy ship, data glitches, or the mysterious temples disappearing in the Into the Unknown quest, will be fully addressed.
Additionally, the setting in Starfield is promised to become more dazzling with graphical upgrades. The developers will enhance stability and make several graphical improvements, from wider screen support to better textures, lighting, and shadows. Other fixes and improvements include the sun disk shape, shadows of planetary rings, leveled objects reappearing when returning to an Outpost, ship hatch doors marked as inaccessible, and a bug fix for asteroids flying alongside the spaceship.
The update will be released for Steam users through the beta channel on January 17, with change logs also available on that day. Two weeks later, the update will be rolled out for all players on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass.
Many other updates with features such as mod support, FSR 3 and XeSS, new movement options, and more will arrive later in 2024. Bethesda is also developing the game’s first story expansion, Shattered Space.
