Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Leaked Real-World Images, Surprising Design and Specifications
Google seems to be struggling to keep the secrets of its new Pixel generation under wraps. Since February, images of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold have been leaked, and there have been at least three more real-world leaks of the upcoming phones.
Google's luck hasn’t improved as the launch date approaches. The entire Pixel 9 lineup was recently leaked through Taiwan's (China) NCC regulatory agency, revealing images including the first clear look at the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, along with details about its battery capacity and charging speed.
All four Pixel 9 models appeared on the NCC: Pixel 9 (model number GUR25), Pixel 9 Pro (GEC77), Pixel 9 Pro XL (GZC4K), and Pixel 9 Pro Fold (GGH2X). The NCC also released images of components for each device.

Photos confirm that Google is moving the internal selfie camera to the corner of the screen, a change hinted at in previous renders. The new square-shaped camera system seen in earlier renders has also been confirmed, replacing the Pixel series' signature camera bar.
Compared to the first-generation Pixel Fold, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold appears to have thinner top and bottom bezels on the inner display. The screen crease also seems to be slightly reduced, though we won’t be certain until hands-on experiences are available. The phone also lies completely flat in these images; the first-generation Fold couldn’t open fully.
The NCC also revealed that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold's battery capacity is 4560 mAh, consisting of two smaller batteries with capacities of 1183mAh and 3377mAh, respectively. The current Pixel Fold comes with a 4821 mAh battery, so the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s display will need to use a new, more power-efficient OLED panel combined with the Tensor G4 chipset to ensure good battery life.

Previously, according to Android Authority, the next Pixel generation may come with new "Google AI" features, including something akin to Microsoft's controversial Recall tool. Google is developing a "Pixel Screenshots" feature that allows saving and processing useful details from screenshots, and enables searching through them.
In addition to Pixel Screenshots, Android Authority reports that a new photo editing feature called "Add Me" will be part of the Google AI toolkit. This feature may allow you to add a person to a group photo, surpassing the existing face editing capabilities of Best Take. Google is also expected to add a Studio tool—previously rumored—that could use AI to create stickers and other images.
All four Pixel 9 models will use Google's new Tensor G4 chip. The Pixel 9 will officially be launched at the Made by Google event on August 13.
