Galaxy SmartTag 2: Compact Design, Accurate Positioning, Long Battery Life
According to the manufacturer, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 has been significantly improved in terms of features, making it more convenient for users to track their belongings. Let’s take a closer look at the Galaxy SmartTag 2 and explore this accessory!
Unboxing and First Impressions: Compact Design of the Galaxy SmartTag 2
The packaging of the Galaxy SmartTag 2 is compact and simple, featuring a predominantly white color scheme. The front of the box displays an image and the name of the Galaxy SmartTag 2, while the back provides detailed product information for easy reference.
Inside, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 is neatly placed in a rigid paper tray, along with an accessory similar to a SIM ejector tool to help users remove and replace the battery.
The Galaxy SmartTag 2 itself is designed to be very compact and elongated, featuring a large keyhole at the top, making it easier for users to attach it to various items compared to its predecessor. Unlike the diamond-shaped first-generation Galaxy SmartTag, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 is more streamlined and can be used to track pets, larger objects, or multiple items.
Moreover, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 is crafted from high-quality plastic and metal, enhancing its durability and resistance to damage from drops. Additionally, the product is IP67-rated for water and dust resistance, allowing users to track the device in challenging environments.
Galaxy SmartTag 2: Accurate Positioning and Long Battery Life
To use the Galaxy SmartTag 2, the first step is to connect the accessory to your phone via Bluetooth and the SmartThings app. You can also accurately track the location of your Galaxy SmartTag 2 using the AR (augmented reality) view on your smartphone, which provides directional arrows when you're near the device.
In addition to its new design, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 has seen significant improvements in battery life. According to Samsung, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 uses a CR2032 battery and can operate continuously for 500 days. However, when the power-saving mode is activated, this number can be extended to 700 days, allowing you to monitor your belongings for a long time without worrying about battery life.
The Galaxy SmartTag 2 also includes a Lost Mode for pets and a Walk Mode for walking your pet, enabling users to track their pets even when they are far away. The device also supports the integration of some personal information that can be read using the SmartThings app on other phones, making it much easier to find lost pets or belongings.
How Much Does the Galaxy SmartTag 2 Cost?
According to Samsung, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 was launched globally on October 11, 2023, with a price of $29.99 for two color options: White and Black. While this price is higher than that of the previous generation, considering the improvements in features and battery life, I believe it is still a great value for users.
